What a mess! I was looking for a storage unit for some furniture so I called around and got some quotes. This Berlin General Storage seemed very organized when I initially spoke to the company. They gave me a quote, told me about half off the first three months, which was great because that is all I needed the unit for. I called a week before I needed the unit to reserve and find out all the details. They held a 6.95 fee to reserve, which was no problem, and told me to come by the morning I was moving in to sign the paper work. Of course they were only open 9:30-11:30 so I made plans to get there as soon as they open. I arrived a little after 9:30 to a note on the door saying 'will return at 10:30' okay, so now I have just 1 hour to sign the paperwork and get assigned a unit. I come back at 10:40 and low and behold the door was locked. okay fine, no big deal the manager was just showing the property, so I waited. I finally get into the office when I tell the manager I was there to sign the paperwork for the unit, he told me "oh you cant get in it today, the phones are broken in the elevator." Now I had it! I called a week prior to reserve the unit, PAID to reserve the unit, they knew I was coming in to get the unit! They took my phone number, credit card # name and address but they could not call me to tell me the unit would not be available the day I was to move in! The solution was- bring my furniture in that night, put it in the manager's personal unit, and come back in the morning around 10 maybe 11 to move it up to my own unit! ARE YOU KIDDING ME. So now I am suppose to take another morning off work and hope the elevator phones are fixed to move my furniture. TOTAL JOKE. They have the audacity to charge a reservation fee, but can't call you when they are unable to accommodate your needs. RIDICULOUS! needless to say I did not purchase a unit, will never return, and DO NOT recommend this place to anyone.
